South Korean In-Kyung Kim tied a record of 9-63 with low torque take the lead after the first round of the LPGA's season opener in Thailand on Thursday.

Kim, ranked No. 7, started with a birdie and continued to look the other nine. He tied the record set in 2007 Cape winner Suzann Pettersen of Norway, Stacy Prammanasudh in 2008 and defending champion Ai Miyazato of Japan in 2010.
